The Arab Foundation for Young Scientists builds the researchers and the ideas. The Egyptian Water Bank builds the financing and the institutions that put them to work. Together we move solutions from the laboratory to the canal, the farm and the community.

Al-Nama University for Science and Technology

Sohag · In development

An integrated university of ten scientific and applied faculties on a 127,157 m² site in New Sohag, built to serve Upper Egypt. Legal and technical requirements are complete, pending the presidential decree of establishment.

Zagazig International Technological University

Sharqia · In development

Converting the existing technological faculty into an applied, industry-facing university under a three-way partnership between a national academic body, an industrial funder and an international accreditation partner.

Suez Canal Economic Zone Workforce Training Centre

West Qantara · Launching 2026

A multi-disciplinary training platform steered by AFYS with Virginia Tech's Center for International Research in Education and Development and the Suez Canal Economic Zone, opening with two-week certification cycles in textile manufacturing.

Young Scientists Knowledge Economy Company

Egypt · Established

An Egyptian joint-stock company that commercialises research results, incubates start-ups founded by young scientists, and delivers engineering and environmental consultancy alongside training and innovation events.

Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdallah El-Sadek

President, Board of Trustees

Founder of both the Arab Foundation for Young Scientists and the Egyptian Water Bank, Prof. Dr. El-Sadek connects scientific potential with strategic implementation. His expertise in water resource management and his commitment to empowering young researchers drive the dual mission of the two organisations.

He chairs the steering committee of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Workforce Training Centre alongside Virginia Tech and the Suez Canal Economic Zone, and has described the foundation's origins as inspired by the example of Dr. Ahmed Zewail.
